Meet Our Founder: Doug Crawford

Mr.Crawford, is an EMMY® and Peabody award-winning cinematographer and documentary filmmaker, who’s been working in national broadcast television for thirty years, producing consistent award-winning television programming. Mr. Crawford specializes in educational documentary and web content related to art, history, environment, and culture. He has taught documentary television production at the University of New Mexico, the College of Santa Fe Documentary Studies program and the Santa Fe Community College.

Doug is well known for his direction and filming of the award-winning 1992 national PBS film ‘Surviving Columbus: The Story of the Pueblo People’’ which has been recognized nationally and internationally for its significant contribution to the history of Native America.  In 1994, it was included into the permanent archives of the United States Congress, “as an outstanding testament to the understanding of the Native American experience and the expansion of the American West”.  For his contributions to this film Mr. Crawford was awarded a national EMMY® for “outstanding individual achievement in a craft” and individually, the George Foster Peabody award, considered the “Pulitzer Prize” of broadcast journalism for his direction, editing and lens work on ‘Surviving Columbus’.

For the last twenty-five years Doug has owned & operated, Delighted Eye Video™ a full scale video production company producing award-winning documentaries, corporate content, PSA’s and commercials. Clients include, ABC, ABC Sports, A&E, BBC, Canal + (Paris), CBS, CMT, CNN, CNNi, Discovery Channel, Disney, HBO Documentary, The History Channel, Fox, HGTV, National Geographic,, NBC, MSNBC, Miramax, MTV, MTV- Mexico, New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, PBS Nova, PBS Newshour, PBS-WGBH, KCET, WETA, Reuters News, Telemundo, Univision, The White House and many others. 

Currently Mr. Crawford also operates the New Mexico Public Broadcasting studio located in the New Mexico State Capital building for KRWG, Las Cruces, KENW, Portales, and KNME, Albuquerque providing relevant insight within the state of New Mexico and live satellite news feeds for television networks through-out the country and the world.
